A Bit About Me
With over a decade of experience in Civil Engineering, I am a seasoned professional renowned for delivering high-quality services that drive economic and social growth. Specializing in Transportation Engineering, I have a strong track record of successfully managing projects, contracts, budgets, and diverse teams in both the public and private sectors across Africa.
My Story
My journey in the realm of Civil Engineering spans over 10 years, marked by impactful contributions to the field. As a former Division Manager at New Plan Limited in Kampala, Uganda, I oversaw day-to-day operations for the roads and highways division. My responsibilities included project acquisition, leading diverse teams, and representing the company at transportation events. This role equipped me with the skills to navigate the complexities of managing projects and teams in a dynamic environment.
A Ph.D. candidate in Civil Engineering with a focus on Transportation Engineering at Osaka University, my research revolves around creating cross-sector cooperation methodologies for sustainable and resilient cities in Africa and Asia. My dedication to academic excellence is evident in the publication of four peer-reviewed papers and presentations at international conferences. As a lifelong learner and effective leader, I am committed to providing impactful solutions for transportation development challenges globally.
My expertise extends to project management, analytical skills, and interdisciplinary collaboration. During my tenure as the Division Manager at New Plan Limited, I formulated budget forecasts, oversaw contract administration, and led a multifaceted team of experts. As the Deputy Division Manager, I played a pivotal role in managing daily division operations, executing traffic studies, and ensuring the timely completion of road project audits.
Additionally, I have contributed significantly to the academic landscape. I hold a Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Regional Planning and Transportation Engineering from Osaka University. My master's thesis, "Study on the Feasibility of Cross Sector Cooperation Approach towards Road Traffic Safety," reflects my dedication to finding innovative solutions for real-world challenges.
Apart from my professional and academic pursuits, I am actively involved in volunteering. As the Coordinator for African students in Osaka and Nara area, I communicate events, organize online sessions about development in Africa, and serve as a mentor for young ladies through the Girls 4 Girls Uganda project.
My multifaceted journey encompasses leadership, research, and a commitment to making a positive impact on the transportation and engineering landscape.
